Twenty-Five Years Around Every Layer of a Roof

I've been in this industry since I was 16 years old.

I started on roofs. In my early twenties I was doing new construction for builders around Eastern Iowa. Then I ran sales for a roofing company here in town and helped grow that business several times over — and along the way I learned there's more to protecting a home than shingles. Siding. Gutters. Flat roofs. The whole exterior matters.

After that, I spent 14 years running a regional roofing supply house. When I took it over, it was losing money. When I left, it was one of the strongest operations in its market. You don't turn a business around by cutting corners. You do it by being good to people, doing what you say you're going to do, and doing things the right way — every time, especially when nobody's checking.

In 2026, I took everything those years taught me and started Hawkland Exteriors.

Why I Started This Company

Let's be honest: contractors have a reputation problem. There are a lot of shady ones out there, and every homeowner has a story — or knows someone who does.

I started Hawkland to do my part to fix that. To help people who need help. To do the job right the first time, and to make the experience one you'd actually tell your neighbor about.

All we have is our names in life. My goal isn't to protect mine by playing it safe — it's to build it into something people want to be a part of and believe in. That starts with your roof.
